The Competency Framework in the Admin interface allows you to manage your own competency frameworks directly in Varbi.
This feature replaces the previous static solution and gives Administrators and Limited Administrators full control over which frameworks, competencies, and questions are available in projects.
Permissions and Management
Frameworks can be linked to the entire organisation, specific departments, or sub-departments, and are only visible where they have been activated.
Limited Administrators can only activate and manage frameworks within their own department.
Within this feature, you can:
- Manage all competency frameworks used within the organisation
- Create frameworks for the entire organisation or for individual departments
- Create any number of frameworks based on organisational needs
- Copy and customise existing frameworks as needed
Standard Competency Framework
Your standard competency framework is displayed at the top for structure/content viewing and demonstration purposes.
This standard framework is centrally provided and updated by Varbi and therefore cannot be manually edited.
It cannot be used directly in projects.
To use a standard framework, you must first import it into your organisation’s own frameworks and then activate it in the Admin interface.
Adjust competencies when cases are ongoing
Changes to a competency do not affect ongoing cases. Each case retains the version of the competency that applied when the process started.
This ensures evaluations and decisions are based on the correct version of the material and prevents accidental changes to data already used in a recruitment process.
Drafts and publishing changes
When a change is made to a competency, a draft is automatically created.
To make changes visible and active in the system, the draft must be saved.
This allows you to finalise a new version before publishing, preventing incomplete updates from affecting ongoing cases or other parts of the system.
Get started with your competency framework!
If your standard competency framework is not yet under “Own Competency Frameworks,” go to Admin > Competency Framework and select Import existing framework to create your own copy. Then activate the framework under “Own Competency Frameworks” to start customizing and using it in your projects.
Please proceed to the next tab for guidance on working within the competency framework.
